Why Groundnut Oil Works So Well for Everyday Cooking

Groundnut oil doesn't get talked about as much as coconut or sesame oil, but in a lot of Tamil Nadu kitchens it's the everyday oil - the one used for regular cooking, frying and tempering, day to day.

Why it suits everyday cooking

Cold-pressed groundnut oil has a distinct nutty aroma that mild, refined oils don't have. It holds up well across frying, tempering and general cooking, which is part of why it's stayed a kitchen staple rather than a specialty oil kept for occasional use.

A quick allergy note

Groundnut oil is made from peanuts, and it can trigger a reaction in people with a peanut allergy. If you or anyone in your family has a known peanut allergy, it's best to avoid it or check with a doctor first - this applies to any groundnut oil, not just ours.

Why batches vary slightly

Because we don't standardise or blend, you may notice small differences in colour or aroma between bottles depending on the season's harvest. That's normal for a genuinely cold-pressed, unrefined oil - not a sign that something's wrong with a particular batch.

Choosing a size

Available in 500ml and 1 Litre - 1 Litre works out cheaper per ml and suits households that use it as their main cooking oil.
